Uzbekistan Launches New 1-Year Visa Program

Uzbekistan will adopt a three-year program for the development of tourism in the Khorezm region with a new visa program called “Uzbekistan is my second home,” allowing foreign visitors to legally stay in the country for up to a year without restrictions.

This was announced during a meeting on priority tasks of socio-economic development of the Khorezm region..

The income of the Tourism Support Fund will remain at the disposal of the Khorezm region for 3 years.

A visa system “Uzbekistan is my second home” will be introduced for tourists to enter Khorezm without restrictions for one year.

In the western part of Khorezm, in the city of Khiva, the authorities plan to open new cafes, restaurants, and grocery stores. Major Uzbek cities, including Urgench north of Khiva, are set to receive about $2.4 million in subsidies to reduce airfare.

For the creation of hotels and sanatoriums, loans will be issued at a rate of 18% for 7 years with a two-year grace period.
