Zanzibar Travel Guide

Zanzibar, the largest and most developed island in the archipelago of the same name, consisting of over 75 islands, is an ideal destination for vacationers year-round, as seasonal factors are practically absent. Summer and early autumn are the peak beach seasons in Zanzibar. There are two rainy seasons on the island: a short one in November (mostly in the second half), and a longer one from late March to May. Tourists are primarily interested in tropical beach vacations in Zanzibar, but the island also offers plenty of interesting excursion programs. The hotel infrastructure on Zanzibar’s resorts is extensive and varied, catering to every budget and preference: there are luxurious 5-star hotels as well as modest but very cozy 3-star accommodations. The vast majority of hotels in Zanzibar are located on the first coastline, so the differences between hotels of different categories usually come down to the level of room facilities and the variety of dining options. However, even 3-star hotels here provide a decent level of service. All-inclusive resorts in Zanzibar are few, and they are quite expensive compared to destinations like Turkey.
