Several major international airlines have extended flight suspensions to Israel, even as some carriers cautiously resume service. While Wizz Air resumed flights to the country on May 15, most other airlines have pushed their return dates further into the summer—and in some cases, beyond.
Greece’s Aegean Airlines will remain grounded through May 21. LOT Polish Airlines has suspended its Israel operations until May 25, while Transavia has set its return for May 24. ITA Airways is holding off until May 18, though specific flights such as AZ809 and AZ815 on May 19 are also affected.
Several major European carriers, including those in the Lufthansa Group — Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings — have extended their suspensions through June 8. AirBaltic is also maintaining a pause until that same date. British Airways has delayed its return the longest of any European airline so far, halting service through June 14.
Other airlines are adjusting their schedules with caution. Air France is suspending flights through May 20, while Iberia Express has extended its suspension to May 31. Ryanair has grounded its Israel-bound flights until June 4.
From North America, the picture is even more delayed. United Airlines has suspended its service to Israel until June 12. Air Canada, which had previously announced a June 8 restart, has now postponed all flights until September 8, 2025 — well past the summer travel season.
Air Seychelles has made the most drastic cut, cancelling all Israel-bound flights until August. The decision further reduces the limited options available to travelers this season.
For travelers planning trips to or from Israel, this fragmented timeline creates challenges. With some carriers resuming flights and others holding back, airline schedules remain fluid. Travelers are advised to check directly with their airlines and monitor updates closely.
