United Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will resume its daily service between Newark Liberty International Airport and Tel Aviv, Israel, on March 15. Additionally, the carrier plans to introduce a second daily flight on the route starting March 29.
The decision follows a “detailed assessment of operational considerations for the region and close work with the unions who represent our flight attendants and pilots,” according to the airline. United will operate the route using Boeing 787-10 aircraft.
With this move, United joins Delta Air Lines and other global carriers in reinstating flights to Tel Aviv. However, American Airlines has yet to announce a resumption date for its service to the Israeli city.
The return of flights to Tel Aviv marks a significant step in restoring air travel connectivity to the region. United’s increased service is expected to accommodate growing demand and facilitate travel for passengers between the United States and Israel.
