The Israeli aviation market is witnessing a resurgence, with more international airlines restoring their routes to Tel Aviv. Air Baltic is the latest carrier to announce its return, joining the likes of Wizz Air, Air France, and Air Seychelles. Starting April 2, 2025, the airline will resume direct flights between Tel Aviv and Riga, strengthening connectivity between Israel and Northern Europe.
Air Baltic’s Comeback: What Travelers Can Expect
The newly reinstated Tel Aviv–Riga route is designed for convenience, offering morning departures from Israel and night returns from Latvia’s capital. This schedule allows passengers to maximize their stay in Riga while benefiting from smooth connections to other destinations across the Baltics and Northern Europe.
Adding to the excitement, Air Baltic plans to introduce Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across its fleet. This cutting-edge technology promises a seamless in-flight internet experience, ensuring that passengers can stay connected throughout their journey.
For travelers who were affected by previous flight cancellations, the airline has reassured that changes or refunds will be processed in line with the Aviation Services Law.
More Airlines Rejoining the Israeli Market
With Air Baltic’s return, the list of foreign airlines resuming flights to Israel continues to grow. Currently, several carriers, including Wizz Air, Etihad, FlyDubai, Air Europa, LOT, Air Seychelles, Bluebird, Ethiopian Airlines, Aegean, Tarom, Azerbaijan Airlines, Hainan, and Bulgaria Air, are already operating flights to Tel Aviv.
The trend will continue in April, with Delta Airlines, Air India, and additional carriers expected to restart their Israel-bound routes. This marks a significant recovery for Israel’s aviation industry following a period of reduced international connectivity.
A Rebounding Market with New Opportunities
As more airlines return, competition is set to increase, potentially leading to better fares and improved services for travelers. With Air Baltic’s renewed route and the upcoming launch of Starlink Wi-Fi, passengers flying to and from Israel can expect a more connected, efficient, and comfortable travel experience.
With more carriers set to re-enter the Israeli market, the question remains: Who’s next?
