Starting 16 July, LOT Polish Airlines tickets to Larnaca are available for purchase. LOT aircraft will be serving the Cyprus route 4 times per week in the winter season and 6 times a week in the summer. After flights to the French Lyon that were announced last week, Larnaca is another destination included in the carrier’s 2024-2028 expansion strategy.
Following a 2-year pause, the sunny city of Larnaca returns to the LOT Polish Airlines’ flight network. The first LOT Polish Airlines flight to Cyprus is scheduled to take off on 28 October 2024, with an expected flight time of approximately 3.5 hours. In the winter season, passengers will be able to depart Warsaw for Larnaca four times a week (on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays). In the summer season, six flights will be offered each week (daily, with the exception of Tuesdays). In the winter season, flight number LO171 will be taking off from Warsaw at 10:40 am, with its arrival in Larnaca scheduled for 3:10 pm. The return flight (LO172) will be departing Larnaca at 4:10 pm and landing in Warsaw at 6:50 pm. Flights to Cyprus will be operated using Boeing 737 aircraft.
Poles eagerly visit Cyprus – in 2023 we were the third most represented tourist group on the island. Not surprisingly, as the high temperatures prevailing throughout the majority of the year, a well-developed hotel base and an intriguing mix of diverse cultures make the island a tourist destination that is definitely worth visiting. Thanks to the continuously growing number of aircraft in our fleet, starting from this fall we will be able to provide travelers with an opportunity to visit the sunny city of Larnaca – says MichaÅ‚ FijoÅ‚, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
Located in the south-eastern part of the island and built on the ruins of the ancient city-kingdom of Kition, Larnaca enjoys the Mediterranean variety of subtropical climate. Its sandy beaches, emerald-colored waters of the Mediterranean and the Foinikoudes Promenade make it a great destination for leisurely relaxation enthusiasts. Those preferring active forms of recreation and sightseeing will not be disappointed as well. The list of Larnaca’s extraordinary sights includes a 17th century Turkish fort, the Orthodox Church of St. Lazarus dating back to the 9th century, the Kamares Aqueduct and the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque located on the banks of the Salt Lake that is famous for a large number of flamingos.
Larnaca may also serve as a great base for trips to other parts of Cyprus – the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. According to Greek mythology, it was there that the goddess of love Aphrodite rose out of the sea foam. The Cypriot culinary tradition embraces both Mediterranean and Southern European influences. It relies heavily on olive oil, wine, cheeses, fresh vegetables, lamb, veal, fish and sea food.
The Larnaca International Airport is located just 8 km south of the city. It boasts the title of the busiest airfield in Cyprus.
Starting from 16 July, tickets for flights from Warsaw to Larnaca are available via all of LOT’s sales channels, including the lot.com website, LOT Contact Center and LOT Travel offices.
