Turkey’s flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, announced on Wednesday that it served 65.1 million passengers during the first nine months of 2024. This marks a 1.8% year-on-year increase in the January-September period.
During this time, the airline carried 23.9 million international passengers, reflecting a 6.7% rise compared to the previous year. However, the overall load factor dropped slightly by 0.8 percentage points to 82.3%.
In addition to passenger traffic, Turkish Airlines also transported 1.5 million tons of cargo and post between January and September, representing a significant 26.5% increase from the same period last year.
In September alone, the airline served 7.7 million passengers, a 3.4% decrease compared to the previous year, while its cargo and post shipments increased by 11.9%, reaching 168,100 tons.
As of the end of September, Turkish Airlines operates a fleet of 467 aircraft, continuing its role as a key player in global air travel and logistics.
