Minor Hotels has appointed Tamer Khedr as Managing Director of Minor Hotels Egypt, creating a dedicated leadership position as the company accelerates its growth strategy in one of its most important emerging markets.

As Managing Director of Minor Hotels Egypt, Tamer Khedr will oversee the company’s operations and development activities throughout the country.
His responsibilities will include supporting portfolio growth, strengthening relationships with owners and partners, and ensuring operational excellence across existing and future properties.
The appointment comes as Minor Hotels increases its investment and development activity in the Egyptian hospitality sector.
More Than Two Decades Of Hospitality Experience
Khedr joins Minor Hotels from DO Hotels, where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer.
Over a hospitality career spanning more than 20 years, he has gained extensive experience in hotel operations, asset management, owner representation and large-scale mixed-use developments.
His previous roles include senior leadership positions with Emaar Hospitality Group’s North Coast developments in Egypt, as well as operational experience with Emaar Hospitality Group, Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh and Shangri-La Dubai.
Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for driving business performance, managing complex hospitality operations and delivering high-quality guest experiences.
Egypt Becomes A Strategic Growth Market
According to Minor Hotels, Egypt is one of the most strategically important markets within the company’s Middle East and Africa expansion plans.
The group has recently accelerated its presence in the country through a series of major development agreements.
Among the most significant projects is the planned Anantara Somabay Resort & Residences, which will introduce the luxury Anantara brand to one of Egypt’s leading Red Sea destinations.
