Minor Hotels Plans First Anantara Property in the US With Miami Development

Minor Hotels has announced plans to launch its first Anantara-branded property in the United States, with the opening of Anantara Miami Resort and Residences scheduled for 2030.

The project marks a significant step in the group’s North American expansion strategy, introducing the luxury Anantara concept to the US market for the first time.

The 50-storey tower will be developed in partnership with One Thousand Group, at the intersection of Miami’s Design District, Wynwood and Edgewater neighbourhoods, overlooking Biscayne Bay. The developer is known for landmark projects including One Thousand Museum, one of the final designs by renowned architect Zaha Hadid.

Architecture for the new property will be led by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), alongside ODP Architecture and Design, with interiors designed by Patricia Urquiola.

Positioned as an “urban sanctuary,” the development will combine hospitality, private ownership and wellness-focused living. It will include 50 hotel suites, 100 private residences and 120 resort residences, the latter allowing owners to place their units into a managed rental programme for guests.

A central feature of the project is a dedicated vitality centre focused on longevity, offering facilities for movement, nutrition and recovery. Programming will draw on Anantara’s Thai-inspired healing traditions, reflecting a growing industry focus on wellness and preventive health.

Additional amenities include a rooftop helipad, enabling direct access to destinations such as Palm Beach, the Bahamas and the Florida Keys, alongside curated hospitality experiences.

The location places the development within walking distance of major cultural institutions including the Pérez Art Museum, the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

The Miami project forms part of Minor Hotels’ broader global expansion plan, which targets growth across North America, the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East. The group has identified key gateway cities as priorities for launching luxury brands, including Anantara.

Recent announcements underline that strategy. The company plans to debut its new The Wolseley Hotels in New York in 2027, while also pursuing joint ventures in markets including Egypt, Japan and India to accelerate portfolio growth.

As competition intensifies in the global luxury hospitality sector, the launch of Anantara in Miami signals a push to capture demand for high-end, experience-driven travel – particularly in urban destinations that blend lifestyle, culture and wellness.
