EDITION Launches Original Mini-Drama Series To Mark 10 Years In Greater China

EDITION Hotels has unveiled an original six-episode mini-drama series as part of its celebrations marking a decade in Greater China and the opening of its newest property, The Dali EDITION.

Titled An Invitation from E, the cinematic series was created in partnership with Fantastic Man China and premiered on June 17, 2026, across Marriott Bonvoy Greater China and Fantastic Man digital platforms.

The project reflects a growing trend among luxury brands to embrace short-form storytelling as a way of engaging younger audiences through entertainment, culture and travel-inspired narratives.

Three Destinations, One Story

Filmed across The Shanghai EDITION, The Sanya EDITION and the newly opened The Dali EDITION, the series follows two contrasting characters as they search for a mysterious figure known only as “E”.

Actors Huang Xiyan and Wu Ruichen lead the cast as Ah-Fan, a meticulous agent, and Xiao Song, his more relaxed partner.

Over six episodes, the pair travel through three distinctive destinations, with each location playing a central role in shaping the story’s atmosphere and character development.

The journey begins in Dali, continues through Shanghai and concludes on the coast of Sanya.

Hotels Become Part Of The Narrative

Rather than serving as simple backdrops, the three EDITION properties are integrated directly into the storyline.

The hotels function as extensions of the characters’ experiences, helping to connect architecture, design and destination with the emotional themes explored throughout the series.

The approach aligns with EDITION’s broader strategy of combining hospitality, culture and storytelling to create deeper connections with travelers.

Celebrating A Decade In Greater China

The launch coincides with a significant milestone for the brand, which is celebrating ten years of operations in Greater China.

Over the past decade, EDITION has expanded its regional footprint through landmark openings in Shanghai and Sanya, with Dali becoming the brand’s third property in Greater China.

The mini-drama serves both as a celebration of that journey and as an introduction to the newest addition to the portfolio.

The Dali EDITION Opens

The release of An Invitation from E also highlights the arrival of The Dali EDITION.

Located at the foothills of the Cangshan Mountains and overlooking Erhai Lake, the property blends contemporary luxury with design influences drawn from the region’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage.

The hotel joins The Shanghai EDITION and The Sanya EDITION as part of EDITION’s growing presence in China.

Luxury Hospitality Meets Digital Storytelling

According to Marriott International, the series was specifically designed for modern viewing habits, combining cinematic production values with a social-first format optimized for digital platforms.

As luxury travel brands increasingly compete for attention beyond traditional advertising, projects such as An Invitation from E demonstrate how hospitality companies are turning to original content and cultural storytelling to engage audiences in new ways.
