Alaska Airlines Debuts New Mickey Mouse Plane

In a spectacle of whimsy and magic, Alaska Airlines introduced its latest aviation marvel, Mickey Mouse Plane, the “Mickey’s Toontown Express,” a uniquely themed aircraft featuring everyone’s beloved characters from the magical world of Mickey Mouse. The airline’s latest collaboration with Disneyland Resort promises to bring joy to passengers as they embark on a journey to the enchanting Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

The grand reveal of the Mickey Mouse plane took place at a gate ceremony in Seattle, where passengers had the opportunity to witness the transformation of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft into a vibrant canvas adorned with the iconic images of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck, all hailing from Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park.

The aircraft, with the tail number 565AS, represents Alaska Airlines’ eighth livery in partnership with Disneyland Resort. However, what truly sets this aircraft apart is the incredible artistry behind its design. Over 400 hours and 20 days were invested in hand-painting the aircraft’s exterior, from nose to tail. Even the boarding doors and winglets feature the mischievous Chip ‘n’ Dale, showcasing the attention to detail that went into creating this masterpiece.

The inaugural flight departed for Orange County, California, with excited passengers bound for “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort. In keeping with Alaska Airlines’ commitment to exceptional service, several families and special guests were invited to experience the airline’s renowned level of care. Families with children under two enjoyed priority boarding, family seating at no additional charge, and were provided with coloring books and the popular Kids’ Choice Picnic Pack and Jetsetter’s Jam Sandwich for guests in Premium and Main Cabins.

Mickey Mouse plane is not only a visual delight on the outside but also offers an immersive experience on the inside. Activity books and snack packs featuring Mickey Mouse and his friends will be available to passengers while supplies last, enhancing the enchantment of the flight.

The aircraft’s exterior artwork draws inspiration from Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park, a whimsical and newly reimagined, animated neighborhood that invites families to explore, play, discover, and unwind together. Passengers can look forward to new interactive experiences, cherished classics, and the latest attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, as they embark on their adventure.

Excitement abounds as Mickey Mouse Plane joins Alaska Airlines’ fleet and will continue to operate on various routes across Alaska’s network for the next several years, bringing the joy and magic of Disney to travelers before reaching the end of its normal rotation. This whimsical collaboration is sure to make journeys even more memorable and enchanting for passengers of all ages.
