Alaska Airlines is expanding its long-haul network again, announcing a new intercontinental route connecting its Seattle global gateway with London Heathrow. Daily, year-round service will begin on 21 May 2026 on board the carrier’s widebody 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which Alaska is introducing as part of its next-generation long-haul strategy. The launch marks Alaska’s fifth intercontinental destination from Seattle and follows recent additions to Rome and Reykjavik. With London ranking as the largest corporate market from Seattle, the new service is expected to strengthen Alaska’s presence among business travelers while offering West Coast passengers another major European connection point.

The flight schedule is designed to maximise time on the ground. Departures from Seattle are set for 9:40 p.m., allowing travelers a full day before boarding. Arrivals at Heathrow are scheduled for 3:05 p.m. the following day. The return service departs London at 5:00 p.m. and arrives in Seattle at 6:50 p.m., providing a similarly convenient window for both leisure and corporate itineraries.

Alaska Airlines will operate from Terminal 3 at London Heathrow, facilitating smooth onward connections through oneworld member airlines and the carrier’s additional global partners. The new route also supports Alaska’s growing international alignment strategy, enhancing access to Europe’s key financial and tourist centers.
