New York’s Iconic Dante to Open Permanent Restaurant at Claridge’s in London

One of New York’s most celebrated restaurant and bar brands is making a permanent move to London. Dante, the iconic Greenwich Village venue known for its cocktails, Italian-inspired cuisine and lively atmosphere, will open a permanent outpost at Claridge’s in Mayfair this summer.

The new venue, named Dante Mayfair, will replace the former Claridge’s Restaurant and marks a significant expansion for the acclaimed hospitality brand outside the United States.

Claridge’s Restaurant welcomed its final guests on 10 May 2026 and is scheduled to reopen as Dante Mayfair in mid-June.

Dante’s London Residency Becomes Permanent

The announcement follows the success of Dante’s residency at Claridge’s, which launched last year and quickly became one of the hotel’s most talked-about dining experiences.

The permanent restaurant will be led by Dante co-founders Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson, the hospitality entrepreneurs behind the original New York location.

Founded in 1915, Dante has built an international reputation for its neighbourhood-style hospitality, award-winning cocktail programme and menu that blends Italian influences with Australian inspiration.

“We are so proud to call Claridge’s, and London, our new home,” said Linden Pride. “At Dante Mayfair, we will amp up the volume on our New York roots across design, menu, and music, aiming to bring an impish sense of fun to Davies Street. That sense of a neighbourhood that Dante’s created for decades in New York? Mayfair’s about to feel it.”

Bringing a Slice of Manhattan to Mayfair

Dante Mayfair is expected to incorporate many of the elements that made the original New York venue famous, including signature cocktails, vibrant social dining and live music.

The opening will further strengthen Claridge’s growing collection of food and beverage concepts, joining established venues including The Foyer, Claridge’s Bar, The Fumoir, The Painter’s Room and Claridge’s Bakery.

The addition reflects the hotel’s strategy of creating dining destinations that appeal not only to hotel guests but also to London residents and visitors seeking distinctive culinary experiences.

Hotel Dining Continues to Evolve

The arrival of Dante highlights a broader trend across London’s luxury hospitality sector, where hotels are increasingly partnering with internationally recognised restaurant and bar brands to create standalone destinations.

As competition intensifies in the capital’s dining scene, hotels are investing heavily in food and beverage offerings that can attract local clientele while enhancing the overall guest experience.

For Claridge’s, the opening of Dante Mayfair adds another internationally recognised name to its portfolio and introduces one of New York’s most influential hospitality brands to one of London’s most prestigious addresses.
