Dusit Thani Maldives has unveiled a collection of refreshed villas as part of an ongoing enhancement programme designed to elevate the guest experience while preserving the luxury resort’s distinctive character. Located on Mudhdhoo Island within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the resort has introduced contemporary design updates across several accommodation categories while maintaining its signature Thai-inspired hospitality.
The refurbishment covers a selection of the resort’s Beach Residences, Overwater Pool Villas and Overwater Pavilions, bringing brighter interiors, updated furnishings and refined finishes inspired by the surrounding tropical landscape and the island’s renowned house reef.
Contemporary Design Meets Island Charm
The redesigned interiors feature a lighter, more modern aesthetic while retaining the spacious layouts and relaxed atmosphere that have become hallmarks of the resort. Refreshed timber ceiling finishes, contemporary lighting and new furnishings create a more inviting environment that reflects both the natural beauty of the Maldives and Dusit’s Thai heritage.
While selected villas have undergone layout modifications to improve functionality, many continue to offer the familiar sense of space appreciated by returning guests.
“Many of our guests return to Dusit Thani Maldives year after year because they value the resort’s natural beauty, generous sense of space, and warm Thai-inspired gracious hospitality,” said Jean-Louis Ripoche, Area General Manager, Maldives, Dusit International.
“These enhancements allow us to preserve everything guests already love while introducing a fresher, more contemporary expression of the resort. Whether discovering the resort for the first time or returning for another stay, guests can now enjoy an even more refined and relaxing island experience.”
Further Resort Enhancements Planned
The villa refurbishment represents an important phase of a broader resort enhancement programme that will continue through the third quarter of 2027. Future improvements will include updates to selected dining venues beginning in the third quarter of 2026, further enhancing the overall guest experience.
In addition to the physical upgrades, Dusit Thani Maldives has launched a redesigned website to simplify the booking process and help guests explore accommodation options, experiences and personalised itineraries before arrival.
“Exceptional hospitality extends well beyond a guest’s stay,” Ripoche added. “From the moment they begin planning their visit to the lasting memories they take home, we want every interaction with Dusit Thani Maldives to reflect the warmth, care, and gracious hospitality that define the Dusit experience.”
