All Nippon Airways has unveiled the Blue Pokémon Jet, the third and final aircraft in a special series created with The Pokémon Company to mark the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The Japanese airline also said it has entered into a partnership with Pokémon GO to link travel with gameplay at selected airports.
The new livery will appear on a Boeing 737, adding another themed plane to ANA’s long-running collaboration with the popular entertainment brand. The announcement extends a project that has already produced two earlier Pokémon aircraft and now reaches its planned conclusion.
ANA said the Blue Pokémon Jet is designed as the last machine in the commemorative series. The airline did not give a full service schedule in the material provided, but positioned the aircraft as part of a wider effort to connect leisure travel, family appeal and branded experiences.
The partnership with Pokémon GO adds a different layer to the campaign. Rather than focusing only on aircraft branding, ANA is linking the airline experience with an augmented-reality game that encourages passengers to interact with places during their journeys.
The move comes as airlines continue to use themed liveries and brand tie-ins to attract attention in a competitive market. Special paint schemes often generate interest among travellers and aviation fans, while also helping carriers reach younger audiences and families.
ANA has a long history of decorated aircraft, including other special liveries linked to popular culture. The Pokémon project stands out because it combines a well-known global franchise with a domestic carrier and a broad international fan base.
The company said the Blue Pokémon Jet is the third aircraft in the series and the final one tied to the 30th anniversary of Pokémon. By making the project a trilogy, ANA gives the campaign a clear end point while leaving room for continued collaboration through digital experiences such as Pokémon GO.
