MGallery Collection has expanded its presence in the Indian Ocean with the opening of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi, introducing a new luxury private island retreat in the South Ari Atoll.
The new resort adds 42 all-villa accommodations to one of the Maldives’ most sought-after marine regions, combining contemporary design with traditional island influences and a strong focus on experiential luxury.
Accessible via a 30-minute seaplane transfer from Malé, the property is now accepting reservations with entry-level villa rates starting from $600 per night.
42 luxury villas including new overwater accommodations
The resort features 42 villas designed by Studio Gronda, including four newly developed overwater villas equipped with large private pools and dedicated butler service.
Interiors combine natural materials including local pinewood, soft textiles and timber finishes intended to reflect the surrounding environment.
At the highest end of the accommodation offering sits Mirihi Maa, the resort’s signature suite, which includes expansive indoor-outdoor living areas, a private swimming pool and direct lagoon access.
Throughout the property, artistic elements have been integrated into the design, including large-scale installations such as the Coral Ceramic Wall and the suspended rope chandelier inside the Akoya Sea Lounge.
Dining focuses on local seafood and Maldivian flavours
The culinary concept is divided across three venues.
Dhonvelli serves beachfront all-day dining focused on locally sourced ingredients and seafood-driven menus.
Muraka, the resort’s overwater restaurant, highlights signature dishes including flambéed Maldivian lobster prepared tableside using Muraka rum and coconut curry.
Meanwhile, Akoya Sea Lounge targets sunset dining and cocktails, including the resort’s signature Maldivian Glow cocktail made using local rum and sun-dried pineapple.
Wellness, marine experiences and whale shark excursions
Wellness facilities include the Mirihi Spa, offering treatments such as seashell massages, infrared sea baths, ocean mineral scrubs, sound healing sessions and aerial yoga overlooking the water.
One of the resort’s most distinctive experiences is its signature M Moment excursion aboard the luxury yacht Mirihi Thari.
The full-day experience allows guests to explore South Ari Atoll’s marine ecosystem with opportunities to swim alongside whale sharks, manta rays and sea turtles while enjoying onboard dining and refreshments.
South Ari Atoll remains one of the Maldives’ best-known regions for year-round whale shark encounters, helping position the new resort within one of the country’s strongest experiential tourism segments.
Luxury tourism demand continues pushing Maldives expansion
The opening comes as international luxury operators continue expanding aggressively across the Maldives, where premium all-villa resorts remain one of the strongest performing accommodation segments.
MGallery says the property will also support local initiatives through partnerships focused on women’s empowerment programs and community development.
Luxury suites at the resort currently start from approximately $2,100 per night.
