ibis Styles to Open First Hotel in Moldova

Amid a rise in international travel and tourism across Eastern Europe, Moldova is preparing to welcome its first ibis Styles hotel in fall 2025 — a €12 million investment that marks a bold step forward for the country’s hospitality and tourism infrastructure. Operated under the globally recognized Accor Group, the new ibis Styles Chișinău will bring fresh energy, international standards, and modern design to one of Europe’s emerging travel destinations.

Strategically located on the main road to Chișinău International Airport — which has seen a remarkable 48.3% increase in passenger traffic in the first half of 2025 — the hotel will serve both business and leisure travelers. With over 2.45 million passengers recorded in just six months, the airport has become a key node in Moldova’s growing connectivity to Europe and beyond.

The hotel is part of the visionary “German Village” urban concept, developed by Regata Imobiliare SRL, and features a creative interior inspired by the sport of tennis — a nod to the dynamic and playful spirit of the broader development.

Guests can expect:

  • 100 stylish, modern rooms

  • A 200+ m² modular event and conference space

  • A vibrant restaurant with bar and terrace

  • A fitness area

  • 45 on-site parking spaces

“The opening of ibis Styles Chișinău marks a defining moment in the evolution of tourism in the Republic of Moldova,” said Natalia Dubina, General Manager of the hotel. “We are creating a new hub of economic and touristic appeal, offering international hospitality standards in a vibrant and inclusive space.”

Natalia Bejan, Director of the Invest Moldova Agency, added: “We are encouraged by the growing investment in Moldova’s tourism sector, reflecting the country’s rising profile as an attractive destination for the millions of visitors it welcomes each year.”

The project has already generated 50 new jobs and is set to attract international expertise to Moldova, helping to upskill the local workforce and elevate service standards across the HORECA sector.

The announcement comes on the heels of positive tourism trends in Moldova:

  • Tourist arrivals rose by 7.5% in Q1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024

  • Overnight stays surged by 23.2%, indicating longer visits and deeper engagement with the local experience

Beyond a hospitality milestone, the launch of ibis Styles Chișinău reflects Moldova’s broader ambitions: to position itself as a competitive, sustainable, and welcoming destination in Central and Eastern Europe — one that blends modern infrastructure with cultural authenticity and forward-looking urban planning.
