Wizz Air Reopens Base in Chisinau, Moldova

Wizz Air has announced the opening of a temporary base at Chisinau Airport, Moldova, just in time for the winter travel season. Starting December 16, 2024, Wizz Air will connect passengers to 16 destinations, including 8 new routes, with tickets available now on wizzair.com or through the airline’s mobile app, with fares starting at just €24.99.

The airline will reintroduce popular non-stop flights between Chisinau and key cities such as Berlin, Bologna, Brussels Charleroi, Dortmund, Memmingen, Paris Beauvais, and Verona, along with a new route to Nuremberg. Altogether, Wizz Air’s winter schedule offers 16 routes to 9 countries, including established connections to Abu Dhabi, Budapest, Milan, Venice, Vienna, Rome, London Luton, and Warsaw.

With over 400,000 seats available from Chisinau this winter, Wizz Air is catering to travelers looking to reconnect with family or enjoy a city break in one of Europe’s cultural hubs. In support of its expanded service in Moldova, Wizz Air has stationed a new Airbus A320 at Chisinau Airport, signaling the airline’s commitment to the Moldovan market and aligning with its long-term goal to reach a fleet size of 500 aircraft over the next eight years.
