Trilogy Hotels has announced a major step in its national expansion, taking over management of Ink Hotel in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct through a new partnership with Singapore-based Nadathur Group and Accor. The 162-key property, which remains under Nadathur Group ownership, will transition to the ibis Styles brand under a franchise agreement with Accor.
The management contract took effect on 1 December and marks Trilogy’s first entry into the Melbourne market. CEO Scott Boyes said the conversion to ibis Styles Melbourne Southbank under Trilogy’s leadership will drive strong operational performance and enhance the guest experience while supporting career development opportunities within the hospitality sector.
Located within walking distance of Melbourne landmarks such as Crown Melbourne, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the National Gallery of Victoria, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Arts Centre Melbourne, the hotel benefits from a prime position in one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
As part of the partnership, Accor will oversee brand-related distribution and provide guests with access to its global loyalty programme. Accor Pacific COO Adrian Williams noted that the evolving Melbourne hotel landscape makes Southbank an ideal location for a bold and playful ibis Styles offering, contributing to the city’s expanding visitor economy.
The hotel features an on-site restaurant, bar, coffee shop and 24-hour front desk. Trilogy has confirmed that all existing staff will continue under its direction, with new professional development opportunities expected as part of the transition.
A Nadathur Group spokesperson said the decision to partner with Trilogy was based on the company’s proven ability to unlock value in premium hotel assets while upholding a high service standard. “Combined with Accor’s international distribution network and brand strength, this partnership creates a compelling value proposition for guests, staff and stakeholders,” the spokesperson said.
The rebranding to ibis Styles Melbourne Southbank will further integrate the property into Accor’s global network, strengthening its market presence and enhancing its appeal to both business and leisure travellers.
