Radisson Collection Debuts in Hungary with the Opening of Basilica Budapest

In the cultural heart of Hungary’s capital, just a few steps from the majestic St. Stephen’s Basilica, a new landmark in luxury hospitality has arrived. The Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest officially opens its doors, marking the brand’s debut in Hungary and setting a sophisticated tone for high-end travel in Central Europe.

Housed in a meticulously restored neoclassical building, the hotel blends architectural heritage with contemporary elegance. Once a historic school, the property has been reimagined as a refined urban retreat offering 71 individually designed rooms and suites, many with sweeping views of the basilica just 50 meters away.

“This hotel is more than just a place to stay: it’s an invitation to experience Budapest in a new way,” said Norbert Polyák, General Manager. “We’ve created a setting where contemporary design meets the rhythm of the city.”

A New Standard for Boutique Luxury

Each guestroom is outfitted with custom-made furniture, curated artwork, and modern comforts including high-speed Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and plush robes. The hotel also features a boutique fitness area and two private boardrooms, ideal for intimate meetings or creative collaborations.

The hotel’s opening expands the Radisson Collection’s footprint in Europe, offering a boutique luxury experience that mirrors Budapest’s unique mix of timeless charm and modern vitality.

“This hotel is a celebration of Budapest’s rich character,” said Yilmaz Yildirimlar, Chief Operating Officer of Managed Hotels Europe at Radisson Hotel Group. “It’s timeless yet forward-looking, elegant yet energetic.”

Dining That Elevates Every Moment

Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest is also set to become a culinary destination in its own right. Guests can choose from three vibrant dining venues that transform everyday moments into something memorable:

  • The Collection Café & Lounge – A vintage-inspired street-facing café offering house-made pastries, barista coffee, and seasonal bites.

  • The Arc Bistro – A bright, welcoming space with international comfort food, local wines, and cold-pressed juices.

  • ISSEI Skybar & Restaurant – The hotel’s rooftop showstopper, featuring Nikkei cuisine (Japanese–Peruvian fusion), curated music evenings, and panoramic views of Budapest’s skyline.

At the Crossroads of Culture and Discovery

Perfectly positioned for exploring both Buda and Pest, the hotel places guests at the epicenter of Budapest’s historic and creative life. From the Buda Castle District and Liberty Square to the Jewish Quarter and the city’s famed ruin bars, inspiration awaits around every corner. Whether visiting during Sziget Festival, the Budapest Art Market, or the magical Christmas markets, guests enjoy a front-row seat to the capital’s vibrant culture.

A Year-Round Invitation to Indulge

From springtime Danube cruises to autumn art walks and winter lights, the Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest offers an elevated experience in every season. Whether it’s morning espresso overlooking the basilica or sunset cocktails at ISSEI, each moment is designed to delight.

With this opening, Budapest gains not just another hotel—but a new destination that blends bold design, historic soul, and immersive hospitality into an experience worthy of Europe’s most alluring capitals.
