Radisson Resort Layan Phuket Opens 300-Room Beachfront Stay

Radisson Hotel Group has opened Radisson Resort Layan Phuket, a 300-room beachfront property on the Thai island’s west coast, adding a new international brand to one of Phuket‘s quieter holiday areas.

The resort sits between Layan Beach and Sirinat National Park, and the company says the location gives guests access to one of Phuket’s most peaceful coastal destinations. It is aimed at travellers seeking a resort stay away from the island’s busier tourist centres.

The opening strengthens Radisson Hotel Group’s presence in Thailand and adds to its growing portfolio in Asia-Pacific. The company has positioned the property as a contemporary resort for leisure travellers, with accommodation and facilities designed for longer stays and beach holidays.

Radisson Resort Layan Phuket is part of a broader push by international hotel groups to expand in Thailand, where demand remains strong for coastal and island accommodation. Phuket continues to draw visitors from across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, helped by its beaches, warm climate and direct air links.

The 300-room resort gives Radisson a larger foothold in a market where global brands compete with local operators and luxury independents. Phuket has seen a steady recovery in tourism since the pandemic, and new openings have focused on both premium and family-friendly travel.

Layan Beach is known for its quieter atmosphere compared with Phuket’s more heavily developed resort strips. The nearby Sirinat National Park protects one of the island’s important coastal ecosystems, giving the area a mix of beach access and natural surroundings.

Radisson Hotel Group has continued to target resort destinations across Asia as it grows its footprint in the region. Openings such as Radisson Resort Layan Phuket form part of that strategy, with the group focusing on leisure markets where international travel demand remains resilient.

Thailand’s tourism authorities have repeatedly highlighted Phuket as one of the country’s most important destinations for international visitors. The island’s hotel market has benefited from renewed airline capacity and a wider recovery in long-haul and regional travel.

For Radisson, the new resort adds inventory in a market where branded accommodation can help attract loyalty members and package holiday customers. It also gives the company another property in a destination that remains a major draw for beach holidays, weddings and extended stays.

The resort’s opening comes as the competition for upscale leisure travellers intensifies across Southeast Asia. Hotel groups are increasingly looking to locations that combine natural scenery, reliable air access and year-round appeal, and Phuket remains one of the region’s strongest examples.
