Radisson Unveils First Net Zero Hotels

Radisson Hotel Group has released its 2025 Responsible Business Report, outlining progress across sustainability, employee development and community initiatives as the company continues pursuing its long-term goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
The report details how sustainability is being integrated into the group’s operations through a structured five-year strategy focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, electrification and responsible resource management.

Verified Net Zero Hotels Introduced In 2025
One of the company’s most significant sustainability milestones during 2025 was the launch of its first Verified Net Zero hotels.
The programme was introduced as a scalable model designed to reduce carbon emissions across both existing and newly developed hotel properties.
Radisson Hotel Group opened its first Verified Net Zero hotels in Manchester City Centre and Oslo City Centre during the year.
According to the company, the properties demonstrate how hotels can significantly reduce emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories while maintaining operational performance and guest experience standards.

Emissions Reduction Targets Continue To Advance
The company reported a 23% reduction in emissions intensity per square metre compared with its 2019 baseline.
Total Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions were also reduced by 6% despite the overall hotel portfolio expanding by approximately 20% during the same period.
Radisson Hotel Group additionally confirmed that 78 hotels now operate using 100% renewable electricity, with further renewable energy expansion planned.
The group said sustainability remains central to strengthening long-term competitiveness for hotel owners while supporting the wider hospitality sector’s transition toward lower-carbon operations.

Employee Engagement And Talent Development Remain Priorities
The report also highlighted investments in employee wellbeing, training and career development across the company’s global workforce of more than 75,000 employees in over 100 countries.
Radisson Hotel Group recorded an employee engagement score of 84%, exceeding the hospitality industry average by 18%.
Women currently represent 31% of leadership positions across the company.
Meanwhile, the Radisson Academy delivered more than 8.5 million hours of learning and development training during the year.
The company also noted that 40% of job openings were filled internally, reflecting a continued focus on career progression.

Community And Social Initiatives Expanded
Through partnerships and charitable programmes, Radisson Hotel Group continued expanding its community impact initiatives during 2025.
Its partnership with Just a Drop helped provide access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene services for more than 34,000 people globally.
The company also contributed approximately €890,000 in cash and in-kind donations worldwide while employees completed around 79,000 volunteer hours.
Radisson Hotel Group additionally received an EcoVadis Silver Medal, with 76% of global suppliers assessed under responsible sourcing standards.

New Sustainability Reporting Standards Adopted
The 2025 report is also the company’s first sustainability report aligned with the European Union’s Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs framework.
Radisson Hotel Group said the report follows a double materiality approach, assessing environmental, social and governance risks, impacts and opportunities across the business.
The company stated that greater transparency and accountability remain key priorities as sustainability expectations continue evolving across the global hospitality sector.
