Avianca has relocated its operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Terminal 4, a move designed to support the airline’s continued expansion and improve the travel experience for passengers flying between South Florida and destinations across Latin America.
The airline confirmed that its first flight departing from the new terminal will be its service to Bogotá, Colombia, operating on Monday. The transition has been coordinated with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Broward County Aviation Department.
According to Avianca, the move provides additional operational space to accommodate increasing flight activity at Fort Lauderdale while improving passenger flows and streamlining airport operations.
“Moving to Terminal 4 gives us the space and operational flexibility needed to support our growth at FLL, improve passenger flows and better serve travelers connecting between South Florida, Latin America and the rest of our network,” the airline said in a statement.
Airport officials said the relocation is expected to enhance efficiency, particularly for international passengers, by providing more convenient access to U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities and improving connections through the airport.
Avianca also confirmed that airport signage, booking systems and passenger information platforms will be updated to reflect the terminal change, helping travelers navigate the new departure location more easily.
The move reinforces Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s growing role as a gateway between the United States and Latin America, while providing Avianca with additional capacity to support future network growth.
