Avianca is increasing service between Miami and Colombia’s Caribbean coast with the launch of daily nonstop flights to Barranquilla beginning June 1, 2026.
The airline has opened bookings for the expanded route, which currently operates three times per week.
The move adds significantly more nonstop capacity between South Florida and one of Colombia’s fastest-growing coastal cities.
New Daily Schedule Between Miami And Barranquilla
Under the new schedule, Avianca will operate one daily roundtrip flight between Miami International Airport and Barranquilla.
The outbound flight will depart Barranquilla at 7:50 a.m. and arrive in Miami at 11:45 a.m.
The return service will leave Miami at 1:30 p.m., landing in Barranquilla at 3:15 p.m.
The daily operation is expected to improve flexibility for both leisure and business travellers moving between the United States and Colombia’s northern coast.
Growing Interest In Colombia’s Caribbean Region
Barranquilla has increasingly positioned itself as a gateway to Colombia’s Caribbean coast, attracting growing visitor interest for its beaches, culinary scene and cultural attractions.
The city is internationally recognised for the Carnaval de Barranquilla, one of the largest cultural festivals in the Caribbean region.
The expanded service also improves access to nearby destinations along Colombia’s northern coastline, including Cartagena and Santa Marta.
Avianca Continues Americas Expansion
The additional Miami frequency forms part of Avianca’s broader strategy to strengthen connectivity between the United States, Colombia and other Latin American markets.
The airline has continued expanding routes and adding frequencies across the Americas in response to rising travel demand throughout the region.
Miami remains one of the most important international gateways for Latin American and Caribbean travel, making the additional Barranquilla flights particularly valuable for connecting passengers travelling through South Florida.
The route expansion also reflects Colombia’s continued tourism growth, especially along its Caribbean coast where international arrivals have been steadily increasing.
