Accor Expands Fiji Presence With Three New Hotels Across Sofitel, TRIBE and The Sebel

Accor and Fiji-based Yavu Collective have announced a major hospitality expansion that will bring three new hotels to Fiji under the Sofitel, TRIBE and The Sebel brands.

The agreement marks a significant milestone for Fiji’s tourism industry and strengthens Accor’s position as the largest hospitality group in the Pacific region. The developments will introduce two new brands to Fiji while adding a second Sofitel resort to the destination.

The projects build on a long-standing partnership between Accor and Yavu Collective, which began with the opening of Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa on Denarau Island in 2005.

Sofitel Fiji Vatu Talei to Open in 2027

The flagship project within the development is Sofitel Fiji Vatu Talei, scheduled to open in early 2027 on Denarau Island.

Designed as a luxury resort that blends French elegance with Fijian culture, the 10-acre property will feature 176 guest rooms inspired by local stories and traditions, including references to the vonu (sea turtle) and the Sleeping Giant.

The resort’s design is centred around the concept of wai, the Fijian word for water, which influences many of its key features. Guests can expect expansive lagoon-style pools, a winding lazy river, a rooftop infinity pool and a dedicated adults-only retreat.

A range of dining venues, cultural experiences and leisure facilities will be incorporated throughout the property, creating a destination designed around storytelling and local identity.

Accor says the Pacific remains a strategically important market for Sofitel, with the region accounting for nearly half of the brand’s most loyal guests globally.

The Sebel Makes Its Fiji Debut

In August 2026, The Sebel Nuku Loaloa Living will become the first property under The Sebel brand in Fiji.

Located in Wailoaloa, Nadi, the development will offer 76 fully self-contained apartments and villas designed for extended stays. Accommodation options will range from one- and two-bedroom residences to larger three-bedroom villas featuring private outdoor decks.

The property will combine residential-style living with hotel services, appealing to longer-stay travellers, families and remote workers.

Facilities will include a restaurant and bar focused on locally sourced ingredients, alongside a wellness and recreation centre featuring a 25-metre swimming pool, gym, yoga studio, spa, sauna and pickleball court.

Guests will also have access to a complimentary shuttle service connecting the property with Denarau Island.

TRIBE Arrives in Fiji

TRIBE, Accor’s contemporary lifestyle brand, will also make its Fiji debut with the opening of TRIBE Na Tomba in late 2026.

Located on Denarau Island, the hotel will feature 118 rooms across a variety of configurations, including king rooms and larger apartment-style accommodation.

The property is designed as a social and cultural hub, bringing together modern design, flexible spaces and community-focused experiences.

Facilities will include multiple dining venues, a pool bar, two swimming pools, communal gathering spaces and a 24-hour fitness centre.

Supporting Fiji’s Tourism Growth

The three developments represent a significant investment in Fiji’s tourism sector and reflect growing demand for diverse accommodation options across the destination.

Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer Adrian Williams said Fiji continues to strengthen its position as one of the region’s most desirable destinations, particularly among travellers from Australia and New Zealand.

He noted that each brand has been selected to serve a distinct market segment, from Sofitel’s luxury resort offering and cultural immersion to TRIBE’s design-led social experiences and The Sebel’s extended-stay accommodation.

A Growing Partnership

Yavu Collective, which is jointly owned by BSP Life and Fiji Airways, remains one of Fiji’s leading tourism developers.

By 2027, the company expects to operate five resorts across Viti Levu, employing more than 1,300 people and contributing to the development of culturally grounded tourism experiences.

According to Yavu Collective Chief Executive Officer Vincent Macquet, the projects are designed to celebrate Fiji’s culture while supporting long-term economic growth and community development.

Both Accor and Yavu Collective have indicated they will continue exploring future opportunities together as they expand their partnership and contribute to the evolution of Fiji’s hospitality landscape.
