InterContinental Singapore has become the first property in the IHG Hotels & Resorts portfolio to integrate NuCalm, a neuroscience-based wellness system designed to promote deep rest, stress recovery, and sharper mental performance. The move positions the hotel at the forefront of the growing sleep tourism trend, where travelers seek out stays that help reset health routines and optimize recovery.
At the heart of the rollout is NuCalm’s DeepSleep program, which uses patented neuroacoustic technology to guide brain waves into restorative states, helping guests fall asleep faster, sleep deeper, and wake up refreshed. In every room, guests can access the system through in-room sound bars, with controls via the NuCalm app or the room’s digital interface — making it as easy to use as a playlist.
“Wellness continues to be a key priority for our guests, so we are proud to bring NuCalm’s transformative technology to InterContinental Singapore,” said General Manager Andreas Kraemer. “This isn’t just about elevating luxury; it’s about promoting holistic wellbeing at every stage of the guest journey.”
Beyond DeepSleep, guests can access programs like Rescue for deep recovery, Ignite for performance, Focus for concentration, FlowState for creativity and relaxation, and PowerNap for quick energy boosts. Those staying in one-bedroom suites and above receive complimentary VIP Edge access to NuCalm’s full product range, while other guests can unlock premium features via QR code or in-room TV.
The initiative aligns with a broader hospitality shift. Earlier this year, Equinox Hotels introduced its Sleep Lab in partnership with sleep scientist Dr. Matthew Walker, underscoring a new reality: hotels are increasingly judged not just on dining or design, but on how well guests sleep.
At InterContinental Singapore, the future of luxury may just be measured in better rest, deeper recovery, and waking up ready to take on the day.
