InterContinental Phuket Goes Residential with New Luxury Development in Kamala

Morning light rises from the mountains, brushing hillside villas before easing toward the calm Andaman. Between turquoise shallows and rainforest ridges, The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort capture a quieter kind of luxury — measured, modern, and unmistakably Phuket.

Set on Kamala’s coveted west coast, a pocket of the island known for its soft surf, privacy, and unhurried rhythm, the THB 2.5 billion (USD 77 million) project marks the second collaboration between Proud Real Estate and IHG Hotels & Resorts’ InterContinental brand. Following the sold-out success of InterContinental Residences Hua Hin, this new venture extends the brand’s Phuket presence beside the island’s award-winning Two MICHELIN Keys resort.

The Art of Restraint

Designed by Habita Architects, the residences reinterpret Phuket’s Sino-European heritage through a calm, contemporary lens. Stone façades, shaded courtyards, and wide balconies frame the sea breeze, merging tropical serenity with cultural depth. Inside, the spaces are tactile and unhurried — natural light meets quiet geometry, while soft Peranakan and resort-inspired details echo the neighbouring InterContinental’s design story.

Every block is oriented to frame either mountain or ocean views, maintaining privacy without detachment. Courtyards break up the scale; limestone details and woven screens filter sunlight into a gentle glow. As Habita’s team notes, the project is “a study in rhythm and restraint” — luxury that whispers, not shouts.

Wellbeing by Design

The residences are built for Fitwel Certification, embedding wellness into architecture itself. Solar panels and water-management systems handle the sustainability logic, while rooftop arrays feed communal power and grey-water recycling supports lush tropical landscaping.

Residents enjoy hydrotherapy and Technogym zones set amid nearly 2,000 square metres of green space, along with access to Sati Spa and MICHELIN-recognised dining at the resort. Concierge and butler services run seamlessly, arranging everything from yacht charters to sunset tables at Pine Beach Bar.

It’s a lifestyle shaped by balance — morning swims in a private lagoon, lunch under palm shade at Jaras, evenings quiet and golden by the Andaman.

A Quieter Kind of Boom

According to C9 Hotelworks’ Asia Branded Residences Market Review 2025, Thailand leads the region with 18 percent of Asia’s branded-residence supply, while Phuket holds the largest resort-destination pipeline — 3,201 units across 24 projects.

But the mood has shifted. The island’s luxury real estate is evolving from flash to finesse, as buyers look for provenance, sustainability, and service over spectacle — a refinement mirrored across destinations from Bali to Da Nang.

The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort embody that evolution. With 111 private residences — from one-bedroom suites to five-bedroom penthouses, each fully furnished and starting at THB 15 million — the project blends architectural discipline with global assurance.

Sales are now open at InterContinental Phuket Resort, Kamala Beach, where sunrise still feels like a secret and every design detail breathes with calm purpose.
