Katowice Airport Breaks Records with Best July Ever, Strong Growth in 2025

July 2025 marked a historic milestone for Katowice Airport, as the airport welcomed 960,878 passengers on regular and charter flights — a remarkable 13.4% increase compared to the previous year. This growth surpassed the airport’s former monthly record set in August 2024, showcasing Katowice’s rising importance as a key air travel hub.

Leading carriers Wizz Air, Ryanair, LOT Polish Airlines, and Air Dolomiti/Lufthansa transported 363,703 travelers in July, reflecting a solid 15.2% jump from July 2024. Charter flights accounted for 594,243 passengers, up 12.6%, underscoring sustained demand for holiday travel.

Aircraft movements also surged, with 6,378 takeoffs and landings in July alone—nearly 14% more than last year—signaling increased airline activity and route expansions.

Looking at the year so far, Katowice Airport has served nearly 4 million passengers in the first seven months of 2025, a 14.7% rise over 2024. Regular flights saw a 10.4% boost, with close to two million travelers, while charter flights soared by 18.5%, carrying over 2 million passengers.

The airport’s growth trend reflects its growing appeal both as a gateway for business and leisure travelers in Poland and Central Europe, supported by expanding airline partnerships and improved connectivity.
