Wizz Air Opens Four New Craiova Routes to Paris, Naples, Athens, and Barcelona

Craiova is about to get even closer to Europe’s most beloved cities. Wizz Air, the region’s largest low-cost carrier, is launching direct flights from Craiova International Airport to Paris, Naples, Athens, and Barcelona, with fares starting from just €19.99.

The first departures take off this October — Paris Beauvais from October 26 (Wednesdays and Sundays), Naples and Athens from October 28 (Tuesdays and Saturdays). Barcelona El Prat will join the network on March 29, 2026, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

For travellers, the new schedule means weekend escapes to the boulevards of Paris, seafood lunches on Naples’ sunny coast, sunset strolls past the Acropolis, or tapas-hopping in Barcelona — all just a few hours from Dolj County.

The expansion also marks a milestone for Craiova Airport, which has now served over four million Wizz Air passengers since the airline’s arrival in 2013. Local officials say the 5-million mark is in sight, thanks to a growing roster of 14 routes to seven countries this winter.

With tickets now on sale via wizzair.com and the WIZZ app, it’s time to pick your city break — and pack light for a quick getaway.
