Wizz Air is significantly expanding its presence in Poland with the deployment of two new Airbus A321neo aircraft—one each in Kraków and Katowice. This strategic expansion not only reinforces the airline’s long-term commitment to the Małopolska and Silesia regions but also introduces ten exciting new direct routes across Europe, bringing even more choice to Polish travelers.
In Kraków, the sixth aircraft will enable four new connections to culturally rich and scenic destinations:
Bilbao (Spain) – Starting December 9, 2025, with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Tallinn (Estonia) – Launching October 26, 2025, with four weekly flights.
Verona (Italy) – Beginning October 28, 2025, operating three times per week.
Vilnius (Lithuania) – Starting October 26, 2025, with four weekly departures.
These routes broaden the horizons for travelers seeking everything from Baltic capitals and Italian elegance to Spanish vibrancy and historic charm.
Meanwhile, Katowice will welcome its seventh aircraft, powering six new routes set to roll out between October 2025 and March 2026:
Porto (Portugal) – From October 26, 2025, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Faro (Portugal) – Kicking off March 30, 2026, with flights on Mondays and Fridays.
Brindisi (Italy) – Launching March 29, 2026, with service four times a week.
Lamezia Terme (Italy) – Taking off March 31, 2026, with three weekly flights.
Brașov (Romania) – Starting March 31, 2026, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Maastricht (Netherlands) – Debuting March 29, 2026, with four weekly departures.
These additions reflect Wizz Air’s diverse route strategy—connecting passengers with beach destinations, historic cities, and hidden gems alike.
This growth comes on the heels of a strong start to 2025, during which Wizz Air operated over 32,000 flights to and from Poland, representing a 9.3% increase from the previous year. On-time performance has also improved significantly, reaching 77.4%, a 9.2% year-on-year gain. Since its first flight in the country, Wizz Air has carried more than 120 million passengers in Poland.
Both new aircraft are Airbus A321neo models—leaders in sustainable aviation. They consume 20% less fuel, reduce CO₂ emissions by 20%, and are 50% quieter than previous-generation planes. Wizz Air now boasts one of the youngest fleets globally, with an average aircraft age of just 4.58 years.
These enhancements support Wizz Air’s Customer First Compass initiative, a multi-year strategy focused on making air travel more accessible, reliable, and environmentally responsible.
Andras Szabo, Wizz Air’s Commercial Officer for Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East, summed it up:
“With the addition of new aircraft, we can now offer travelers from Małopolska and Silesia an even broader selection of exciting destinations — including Porto, Bilbao, Verona, Tallinn or Brașov — all at affordable prices. We are proud to support the dynamic growth of these regions while making air travel more accessible and environmentally friendly.”
Whether you’re planning a cultural city break, a sun-drenched escape, or a European weekend getaway, Wizz Air’s expanded network from Kraków and Katowice is set to make it easier—and greener—than ever.
