MEININGER Hotels Partners With bett1 to Improve Sleep Quality Across Europe

MEININGER Hotels has announced a long-term partnership with German mattress company bett1, aiming to enhance sleep quality for guests across its European portfolio.

The collaboration is built on a shared belief that quality sleep is just as important while travelling as it is at home. Through the partnership, MEININGER plans to gradually introduce bett1’s BODYGUARD® anti-cartel mattresses across its properties as part of ongoing hotel upgrades and renovations.

Sleep Comfort Becomes a Strategic Priority

According to MEININGER Hotels, quality rest has become an increasingly important factor in guest satisfaction, particularly among modern travellers who frequently combine leisure and business trips.

“Anyone who travels frequently knows how important good sleep is,” said Ajit Menon, CEO of MEININGER Hotels. “Together with bett1, we ensure that our guests wake up feeling genuinely rested, even when they’re on the road. For us, good sleep is not a luxury but a clearly defined standard that our guests can rely on.”

Barcelona Hotel to Lead the Rollout

A major milestone in the partnership will come with the opening of the new MEININGER Hotel Barcelona Fira Gran Via in summer 2026. All rooms at the property will be equipped with bett1’s BODYGUARD® mattresses as part of a sponsorship agreement.

The rollout is already underway. MEININGER hotels in Leipzig, Vienna, Paris, Lyon and Munich have already introduced the mattress model, with additional properties expected to follow as refurbishment programmes progress.

The partnership will also be reflected through joint marketing initiatives and branding across participating hotels.

Award-Winning Mattress Technology

The BODYGUARD® mattress has received multiple top ratings from German consumer testing organisation Stiftung Warentest, earning a score of 1.6. The product is recognised for its durability, comfort and use of certified materials that comply with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 requirements.

“We’re excited to have MEININGER Hotels as our first major partner in the hospitality sector,” said Adam Szpyt, Managing Director of bett1. “This partnership allows travellers to experience our sleep products not only at home but also while travelling.”

Two Berlin Brands Expanding Together

The partnership brings together two companies headquartered in Berlin. Founded in 1999, MEININGER Hotels currently operates 36 hybrid hotels across ten European countries, offering approximately 5,872 rooms and more than 20,700 beds.

For MEININGER, the initiative supports a broader strategy focused on guest experience and service quality. For bett1, it represents an expansion into the hospitality sector, allowing the brand to introduce its products to international travellers in a real-world hotel environment.

As sleep quality becomes an increasingly important differentiator in hospitality, the partnership highlights how hotels are investing in guest wellbeing as part of the overall travel experience.
