Air India has expanded its international premium travel offering with the opening of a new Maharaja Lounge at San Francisco International Airport.

The new signature lounge officially opens on May 23 and forms part of the airline’s broader effort to strengthen its passenger experience on key long-haul international routes.

New Lounge Located In International Terminal

The Maharaja Lounge is situated near Gate A1 in the International Terminal at San Francisco International Airport.

The facility spans more than 3,300 square feet and is designed to accommodate up to 80 guests.

Air India said the lounge combines premium dining, relaxation areas and dedicated spaces for eligible first- and business-class travelers.

The lounge includes a full-service bar, interactive cooking stations and a hot buffet alongside a cold food counter and beverage station.

A dedicated “social zone” has been created for travelers looking to work or relax before flights, while a separate private section is reserved for first-class passengers.

The design reflects growing competition among international airlines to enhance premium ground services at major global airports.

Access Available To Premium Travelers And Loyalty Members

Access to the Maharaja Lounge will be available to Air India first-class and business-class passengers.

Eligible Platinum and Gold members of the Air India Maharaja Club loyalty program will also be permitted to use the facility.

The opening strengthens Air India’s premium presence in North America as the airline continues expanding international services and upgrading onboard and airport experiences following its wider transformation strategy.
