Accor’s MGallery Collection is set to enter the Maldives for the first time with the opening of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi, a newly reimagined boutique resort scheduled to welcome guests in early 2026. The project marks a significant milestone for the brand, expanding its curated portfolio of design-driven hotels into one of the world’s most coveted luxury destinations.
Formerly operating as Mirihi Island Resort under VIE Maldives Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Thailand’s Major Cineplex Group, the property is undergoing a complete transformation ahead of its relaunch. The redesign will bring a new architectural and lifestyle vision to the intimate island of Mirihi in the South Ari Atoll, accessible by a 25-minute seaplane flight from Malé International Airport.
MGallery has appointed the award-winning design studio Studio Gronda to shape the resort’s aesthetic. Once completed, V Villas Maldives at Mirihi will offer 42 high-end villas, including overwater suites and multi-bedroom residences with private pools. The interior concept draws inspiration from the Maldivian landscape, incorporating coral stone textures, natural materials, and soft contemporary lines to create an atmosphere of refined island tranquility.
The redevelopment also includes a comprehensive wellness upgrade. Plans feature a new spa and holistic treatment menu, indoor and outdoor fitness centres, and a dedicated yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean. Guests will also find multiple dining venues, a signature bar, and a central pool designed as a social focal point of the resort.
The project forms part of Accor’s ESG pilot programme, signalling a strategic commitment to embedding sustainability principles into design, operations and guest experience. The resort will prioritise responsible construction methods, energy efficiency, and long-term environmental stewardship within its island setting.
