Mandarin Oriental is set to make its Austrian debut on 20 October 2025 with the opening of Mandarin Oriental, Vienna, a landmark property in the city’s historic First District. Nestled on tranquil Riemergasse, the hotel occupies a beautifully restored Art Nouveau courthouse, blending Vienna’s architectural heritage with the group’s signature understated luxury.
The property will feature 138 rooms and suites, including three exclusive Mandarin Signature Suites and a grand Royal Suite. Each space combines Viennese Art Nouveau elements with modern comforts, offering light-filled interiors, refined materials, and timeless design.
Dining will be a major highlight. Under the direction of Executive Chef Thomas Seifried, four distinct culinary concepts will debut:
Le Sept – the hotel’s fine dining restaurant with a seafood-driven menu infused with French techniques and Asian touches.
Atelier 7 – Brasserie – an all-day destination for international comfort food with Austrian and Asian influences.
Atelier 7 – The Café – a modern take on Vienna’s coffeehouse tradition, serving specialty coffees, teas, and artisan pastries.
Atelier 7 – Izakaya and Bar – where Art Nouveau meets Japonisme, offering Japanese-inspired cocktails in a stylish setting.
For wellness, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Vienna will offer seven treatment rooms, a serene couple’s suite, a spacious indoor pool, and holistic therapies rooted in both global and local traditions.
Event facilities include seven multifunctional boardrooms and a 140-square-meter ballroom, designed to host gatherings with the elegance and sophistication Vienna is known for.
General Manager Mario Habicher describes the hotel as “both a retreat for international travellers and a meeting place for locals with an appreciation of the extraordinary,” while Chef Seifried promises “a flavourful journey in a stylish yet inviting setting.”
With its combination of historic grandeur, cutting-edge design, and world-class service, Mandarin Oriental, Vienna is set to redefine luxury hospitality in the Austrian capital.
