Copa Airlines is expanding its footprint in the United States with the launch of a new route to San Diego, California, set to commence operations on June 25, 2025. This marks Copa’s third destination in California and its 17th in the U.S., reinforcing its role as a major connector between Latin America and North America.
The new service will provide enhanced travel options between Southern California and Copa’s extensive network across Central and South America and the Caribbean. San Diego, known for its cultural diversity and economic vitality, is poised to benefit from the added connection, fostering both business and tourism between the regions.
With this launch, Copa becomes the 19th airline operating at San Diego International Airport. Given its strong connectivity from South America, the airline is expected to drive increased passenger traffic and play a pivotal role in the region’s aviation landscape.
The addition of San Diego to Copa’s network underscores the airline’s ongoing growth in the U.S. market. Last year, Copa introduced flights to Raleigh-Durham and continues to operate consistently to its other 17 North American gateways. The airline’s strategic expansion further strengthens its position as a leading carrier linking the Americas.
