Turkish Airlines to Launch Direct Flights to Peru Next Year

Turkish Airlines will expand its global network by launching direct flights to Peru in the first half of 2025. The announcement was made during the prestigious Routes Americas 2025, an influential event in the tourism and aviation industries. This move significantly enhances connectivity between South America and Europe, providing new travel opportunities for passengers worldwide.

The event, which gathered key leaders from the aviation and tourism sectors, served as a platform to explore new air travel routes and boost international tourism. Among those highlighting the importance of these discussions was Peru’s Vice Minister of Tourism, Madeleine Burns, who emphasized the country’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity. She underscored the vital role such initiatives play in positioning Peru as a top global destination.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), this expansion aligns with broader efforts to enhance tourism and economic growth by increasing flight options and improving travel efficiency. The ministry stressed that both the quality of the tourist experience and the effectiveness of air services remain top priorities.

Peru has already seen a surge in international tourism, recording a 29% increase in visitor arrivals in 2024 compared to the previous year. The Jorge Chávez International Airport played a crucial role in handling this influx, processing 66.2% of all international arrivals—over 2.1 million travelers.

The introduction of Turkish Airlines’ new route is expected to contribute further to this upward trend, attracting more visitors from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. With the airline’s reputation for top-tier service and an extensive flight network, the connection between Istanbul and Lima is anticipated to enhance accessibility, support business ties, and strengthen Peru’s status as a must-visit destination for global travelers.
