Turkish Airlines is set to increase its daily service flights to Sydney by early January 2026. The airline, which only launched its Sydney route on November 29, 2024, has seen strong demand, prompting the expansion.
Currently, Turkish Airlines operates four weekly flights between Istanbul and Sydney, with a stop in Kuala Lumpur. However, the frequency will gradually rise to five weekly flights in mid-June 2025, then six by the end of October. By early January 2026, the route will operate daily, just in time for peak summer travel in Australia.
At 8,082 nautical miles (14,968 km) each way, the Istanbul-Kuala Lumpur-Sydney route is the longest in Turkish Airlines’ network. The airline is using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the journey, offering a comfortable and modern experience for passengers.
The expansion aligns with Turkish Airlines’ broader strategy to grow its presence in Australia and strengthen its long-haul connectivity. The airline already serves Melbourne via Singapore and continues to evaluate further opportunities in the region.
For travelers, this increased frequency means greater flexibility and more options for flights between Australia and Europe. It also reflects Turkish Airlines’ commitment to serving one of the world’s most in-demand long-haul routes.
