IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of the Vignette Collection, Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy, marking the brand’s debut in Turkey. The property, owned by Cortex Turizm, is set to open in the second half of 2025, becoming the 16th IHG hotel in Istanbul and joining a rapidly growing portfolio of 45 IHG hotels across the country.
The Vignette Collection, Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy will be housed in the historic Tütün Han building and feature 51 uniquely designed guest rooms, an artisan bakery and specialty restaurant, and premium wellness facilities including a spa. Staying true to the ethos of the Vignette Collection, the hotel will retain its independent character while emphasizing meaningful contributions to the local community through its “A Means for Good” initiative.
Expanding IHG’s Luxury and Lifestyle Presence
The signing reflects IHG’s continued growth momentum in Türkiye and its commitment to expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio globally. The Vignette Collection, IHG’s luxury conversion brand, is designed to offer guests one-of-a-kind stays while allowing property owners to maintain their hotels’ unique identities.
IHG has ambitious plans for the Vignette Collection, aiming to reach 100 properties worldwide within the next decade. The brand currently complements IHG’s existing luxury and lifestyle offerings, which include nearly 900 open and signed hotels globally.
Part of a Larger Vision for Türkiye
This announcement follows other significant developments for IHG in Turkey, including the recent signing of the first Garner hotel near the International Istanbul Airport and the upcoming InterContinental Ankara, both set to open in 2025. Currently, IHG operates 32 hotels in Turkey, with an additional 13 in development across various brands.

Karaköy, one of Istanbul’s most vibrant and historic districts, is the perfect location for the Vignette Collection’s debut in Turkey.
