IHG Hotels & Resorts announces the signing of the first Vignette Collection hotel in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This new property marks IHG’s second luxury and lifestyle hotel in Kazakhstan, joining the prestigious InterContinental Almaty.
The 95-room Vignette Collection property, signed under a franchise agreement with Meliora (a division of HAYAT Construction), will be a significant addition to IHG’s expanding Vignette Collection portfolio in Europe, which currently includes three open hotels and seven in the pipeline. The new hotel is slated to open in the first half of 2027 and will be part of the Meliora mixed-use development, also constructed by Hayat Construction.
Strategically located on the main road encircling the city center, the new development will offer direct connections to the airport and key attractions, such as Kok Tobe Park, a renowned recreation area with stunning panoramic views of Almaty. This prime location makes it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Vignette Collection, IHG’s first collection brand, showcases a carefully curated selection of unique hotels, each providing one-of-a-kind stays in memorable destinations. With 12 Vignette Collection hotels already open worldwide and another 23 in development, the brand emphasizes individuality, intrigue, and experience. Each property is united by a commitment to responsible travel, catering to the thoughtful venturer.
The upcoming Vignette Collection in Almaty will embody the brand’s distinct hallmarks through unique features such as the Memorable Ritual and the ‘A Means For Good’ partnership. Memorable Rituals aim to connect guests with the local cultural landscape, offering meaningful travel experiences. Aligning with IHG’s ambitious Journey to Tomorrow responsible business plan, each Vignette Collection hotel collaborates with a local non-profit organization to foster positive contributions to the community.
Guests at the new Vignette Collection property in Almaty can expect stylish, uniquely designed rooms, a destination restaurant and bar, and premium wellness facilities including a spa and gym. This development represents a significant step in IHG’s commitment to expanding its luxury and lifestyle footprint while promoting sustainable and responsible travel practices.
