Delta Air Lines began offering free Wi-Fi to its SkyMiles loyalty members on Viasat-equipped flights between the United States and Paris and Nice, France, starting in July, the airline announced Monday. The service will continue to roll out on additional international routes.
In August, Delta plans to extend the service to flights to and from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy. In September, more European destinations will be added, including Iceland, Ireland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland. Israel will also be included in September, though service there is temporarily suspended until August 31.
By October, Delta will offer free Wi-Fi on flights between the U.S. and South America, covering Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, followed by Hawaii. By January 2025, flights to and from Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal will also have the service, with South Africa and transpacific flights to Asia, Australia, and New Zealand scheduled to receive it by mid-to-late 2025.
Delta first introduced free inflight Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members on domestic flights in February 2023. Today, the airline offers free, streaming-quality connectivity on nearly 700 aircraft, covering more than 90 percent of its domestic fleet.
