Delta Air Lines is planning to pursue compensation from CrowdStrike and Microsoft for damages related to a recent computer system outage, according to CNBC. Microsoft estimates that approximately 8.5 million Windows-based devices were affected on July 19 due to a failure in CrowdStrike’s antivirus software. This issue forced Delta Air Lines to cancel numerous flights.
Analysts estimate that the damage to the airline could amount to $350 million. Sources report that Delta has enlisted the services of experienced attorney David Boies from the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner to file a lawsuit.
