Delta Air Lines has kicked off a new seasonal route between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Brisbane Airport (BNE), marking a significant expansion of its Australian network.
The inaugural flight from LAX to BNE took off on December 4, 2024. This new service will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the Northern Hemisphere winter, concluding on March 28, 2025.
Brisbane joins Sydney as the second Australian destination served by Delta. The airline first launched flights to Sydney in 2008.
The LAX-BNE route spans approximately 11,525 kilometers and takes around 13 hours and 25 minutes to complete. Delta will deploy its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on this route, offering passengers a comfortable and modern travel experience with a variety of seating options, including Delta One suites, premium economy, comfort plus, and standard economy.
Delta is currently the only U.S. carrier operating direct flights between Los Angeles and Brisbane. Qantas Airways is the other airline offering this route. Virgin Australia previously served the route but discontinued it in 2020. Additionally, United Airlines offered the route for a brief period between 2023 and 2024.
