Passengers will now be able to check-in and obtain their boarding passes between 24 and 3 hours prior to scheduled departure. Currently, this timeframe ranges from 48 to 3 hours before departure.
The new rules will affect passengers who purchased tickets at the lowest fares and did not pay for seat selection. Such passengers will be able to check-in for their flight online for free within the period of 24 to 3 hours before departure. Failure to do so will result in a fee of 40 euros for check-in and boarding pass issuance at the airport. Passengers who have paid for seat selection or purchased a fare including this service will be able to check-in for their flight within a period of 30 days to 3 hours before departure.
On April 21, 2023, it was reported that Wizz Air introduced a “subscription” service for airline tickets, allowing customers to book tickets at a fixed price for a period of 6 months.
