Russian Airspace Become 20% More Expensive

According to reports from the media, fees for air navigation services in Russian airspace have increased by 20% for international airlines. Experts have analyzed how this change may affect ticket prices for passengers.

As per information from international and Russian aviation media sources, the cost of using Russian airspace for airlines that continue to use these routes has risen by 20%.

Various reasons are being put forth to explain why the authorities decided to raise tariffs for air traffic control services. However, it should be noted that the specialized State Corporation for Air Traffic Management (ATM) had already experienced significant revenue losses even before the sanctions, specifically during the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The increase in service costs for airlines inevitably leads to an increase in airfare prices.

Nevertheless, experts believe that this rise is unlikely to be critical for international flights.
