Russia to Relaunch Cuba Flights in December 2023

The Ambassador of Cuba to Russia confirmed the resumption of direct Cuba flights. Direct communication between Moscow and Havana will resume in December 2023. At the same time, it is planned to launch regular flights between St. Petersburg and the island of Cayo Coco, said Cuban Ambassador to the Russian Federation Julio Garmendia Peña. Izvestia writes about this.

“By the end of December, it is planned to resume direct Aeroflot flights operated by Rossiya Airlines between our capitals, as well as a flight every 10 days from St. Petersburg to Cayo Coco. Despite all the logistical difficulties that exist today, Russian airlines and tour operators are showing great interest in continuing flights to Cuba, where Russians will always be welcomed with open arms,” the ambassador said.

Previously, Aeroflot reported that planes to the Cuban capital would fly on Wednesdays and Sundays from December 24. The cost of a ticket for a 14-hour flight will be approximately 43 thousand rubles.

Jose Marti International is the largest airport in Cuba. In total, there are 39 airports with direct flights to Havana from 22 different countries and 4 U.S. states.
