Marriott Brings The Luxury Collection to the Dodecanese Islands with Patmos Aktis Resort & Spa

Marriott International, Inc. has signed an agreement to bring The Luxury Collection to the Dodecanese Islands in Greece, marking a significant expansion into the region. The announcement comes alongside the extensive refurbishment of Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa, paving the way for the unveiling of Patmos Aktis, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Greece, in the summer of 2024. This exclusive resort promises a unique blend of luxury and tranquility, nestled in the serene beauty of Grikos Bay on the peaceful Island of Patmos.

Inspired by the island’s rich heritage, the resort is set to undergo a complete transformation under the guidance of Stylianidis Vaggelis Architects and Anastassiadis Architecture & Design. Renovations will encompass all 56 guestrooms, suites, and villas, with additional guestrooms scheduled for an unveiling in 2025. The resort will boast a signature restaurant offering a contemporary twist on local island delicacies, a bar and terrace with stunning bay views, and Plefsis Tavern, a traditional Greek taverna on the beach, featuring authentic Dodecanese cuisine with a modern flair.

The rejuvenated Spa will offer a range of rituals and signature treatments designed to detoxify the mind and relax the body, aligning with the spiritual energy of the island. Guests can anticipate a wellness journey that begins with a balancing welcome drink flavored with rose petals, known for their relaxing properties. The experience will extend to mystical sessions with Tibetan bells and a selection of beauty treatments featuring rose essence products.

Interior design maven Patricia Anastassiadis will lead the concept, blending The Luxury Collection’s authentic luxury standards with Patmos Aktis’ essence of simplicity. A calming color palette of creams, whites, and soft blue tones will grace the resort, complemented by local artwork and traditional Greek design touches that pay homage to the island’s ancestry and its stunning landscape.

Patmos Aktis, situated along the rugged coastline adorned with traditional fishing villages and secluded coves, offers an ideal setting for complete relaxation and a profound connection with the sea. Guests can explore the island’s volcanic landscape through hiking trails, visit whitewashed hilltop villages and ancient monasteries, or sail between beaches and the nearby Arkoi islands for picturesque picnics. Additionally, the resort will provide opportunities to delve into the secrets of Greek cuisine through market tours and cooking classes.

In 2024, Greece is set to unveil one of its most extravagant resorts on Scorpios Island in history, with a price tag to match.
