Croatian authorities have decided to impose new restrictions at the country’s border crossing points. Only persons who present a negative PCR test, not older than 48 hours, will be permitted to enter Croatia.
If they do not present this document showing they have been tested and resulted negative, travellers will be required to undergo a testing procedure, and stay self-isolated until they obtain the negative results.
The decision does not apply to health professionals, persons who wish to enter Croatia for education, diplomats, passengers in transit, border workers, etc.
Schengen Zone countries, who belong to the “green zone”, based on their epidemiological situation, will not be subject to the new PCR test rule.
These restrictions are expected to be temporary, lasting until December 15th, but there is the possibility of renewal if the epidemiological situation does not improve.
“Travellers arriving from green areas of the EU with respect to the COVID-19 incidence do not need a PCR test nor do they need to meet any additional conditions to enter Croatia. However, right now the only green area in the EU is the island of Fasta in Finland. All other travellers coming from the EU need to produce a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours or take a PCR test on arrival in Croatia and stay in self-isolation until a negative result comes in,” said Davor Bozinovic, Interior Minister.
Hotel stays for the purpose of leisure travel is still permitted in Croatia, restaurants inside hotels or resorts are also opened to guests.
Bulgaria has imposed travel ban outside the European Union countries starting from December 1, 2020, until January 31, 2021.
