Niyama Private Islands Completes Resort Transformation in the Maldives

Niyama Private Islands Maldives has completed the final phase of its year-long transformation, unveiling redesigned beach and overwater pavilions alongside enhanced dining and lifestyle experiences across the luxury island resort.

The resort’s newly reimagined accommodations range from 350 to 770 square metres and are available in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations. Inspired by the relaxed elegance of the Maldives, each pavilion features spacious living and dining areas, a pantry, a private swimming pool and a jacuzzi.

The overwater pavilions provide direct access to the lagoon, allowing guests to step from their terraces into the Indian Ocean. The beach pavilions, meanwhile, are tucked away in secluded coves with white-sand beaches and easy access to some of the resort’s best snorkelling spots.

The Crescent Offers Ultimate Privacy

At the pinnacle of the resort’s accommodation portfolio is The Crescent, an exclusive collection of five interconnected overwater pavilions linked by a private boardwalk. Designed for families, multigenerational holidays and special celebrations, the complex can accommodate up to 22 guests.

The Crescent features three living rooms, five private pools with jacuzzis and dedicated thakurus (private butlers) and housekeepers. Guests can also enjoy bespoke experiences, including underwater Champagne breakfasts and private beach barbecues followed by outdoor cinema screenings beneath the stars.

Dining Experiences Expanded

Niyama has also refreshed its culinary offerings. At Nest, guests dine among the treetops while enjoying contemporary Asian cuisine, while Subsix, located six metres beneath the ocean’s surface, now serves what the resort describes as the world’s first underwater Nikkei tasting menu.

Surf enthusiasts can gather at the new Surf Shack, a thatched-roof venue overlooking the resort’s famous surf break. Located next to the surf and marine centre, the venue combines ocean views with a relaxed atmosphere inspired by reggae music and tropical island living.

Nature Remains at the Heart of the Resort

Despite the extensive refurbishment, Niyama says the islands’ natural environment remains unchanged. Tropical forests, white-sand beaches, turquoise lagoons and abundant marine life continue to define the guest experience, with visitors free to explore both islands connected by pathways.

“Niyama is a magical place, and it always has been – this remains unchanged,” said Hafidh Al Busaidy, General Manager of Niyama Private Islands Maldives. “Our evolution is merely a celebration of everything our guests have always loved, elevated to new heights.”

With the transformation now complete, Niyama Private Islands Maldives welcomes guests to experience its redesigned accommodations, enhanced dining concepts and immersive island experiences while remaining closely connected to the natural beauty of the Maldives.
