Wizz Air is adding a new year-round route from Wroclaw to Bilbao, giving the Polish city its first direct link to northern Spain. The low-cost carrier will begin flights on 19 December.
The service expands Wizz Air’s network from Wroclaw Airport and adds another connection to Spain. Bilbao is the largest city in the Basque Country and a popular gateway for travel in northern Spain.
The new route is the first direct flight from Wroclaw to that part of the country, according to the airline.
Bilbao is known for its blend of modern architecture, food culture and access to the wider Basque region. The city sits near Spain’s northern coast and is often used as a base for trips to San Sebastian, the Cantabrian coast and inland wine areas.
Wroclaw Airport has also been working to widen its route network, especially on leisure destinations across Europe. The Bilbao service gives the airport a new western European connection and marks another sign of recovery in regional aviation.
