Pegasus Airlines Launches Flights between Istanbul and Bilbao

Pegasus Airlines has launched a new direct route between Istanbul and Bilbao, expanding its European network with an affordable four-times-weekly service. The connection, which began operating on 1 December, is expected to strengthen travel, cultural exchange and commercial activity between Turkey and northern Spain.

According to the airline, flights depart Istanbul at 09:20 on Mondays and at 10:15 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Return services from Bilbao leave at 12:55 on Mondays, at 14:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays, and at 13:50 on Sundays.

Pegasus Airlines chief commercial officer Onur Dedeköylü said the route enhances links between two dynamic destinations. He noted that Istanbul serves as a major hub for business, tourism and culture, while Bilbao continues to grow as one of Spain’s most compelling northern cities.

The expansion also reflects Pegasus Airlines’ continued growth since ESAS Holding acquired the carrier in 2005. Operating under a low-cost model, the airline now flies to 156 destinations across 55 countries.

Bilbao Airport managing director Iván Grande welcomed the new service, describing the airport as the principal gateway to northern Spain. He said the new connection would help deepen commercial, tourism and industrial ties between the Basque Country and Turkey.

Fares for the Istanbul–Bilbao route start at £69.99 (US$92.44), positioning the service as one of the most competitively priced options linking the two regions.
